I am contemplating a particular design for an in-line spinner bait built on a wire shaft with a diameter of 0.062 inches. I would like to add some faceted glass beads along with traditional metallic lure bodies. The faceted glass beads that I have been finding in fishing type stores/catalogs and craft shops (e.g. Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Jo-Ann's) have holes that will accommodate a wire no larger than about 0.045 - 0.050 inches in diamter.

Any suggestion out there for a source for faceted glass beads that will accommodate a wire shaft having a diameter of 0.062 inches?

Many thanks.....

I don't know of any that will have that hole size. Hagens 10mm has a hole size .052. A thing that I have for glass beads is a jewerly/ bead file. I looks like a small rat tail file. I bore out the glass beads that are a bit smaller then the rest. It doesn't really take all that long to do but still takes time. However depending on the size you start might be a lot of work to get to .062.

Something to remember with glass or plastic beads is that they can break and fall off if you knock them on something hard enough. In some applications they're just for looks and who cares. But if you're using them as spacers for your blades or components and you break one or two, now your blades are sitting 12mm or so further down the shaft. Of course you're making your own baits, so you can rebuild them. Just my thoughts on glass.
