Picked up a couple Mantas from a gent last month. Did the older or first production Mantas have any marking (writing) on the tail? I also noticed the epoxy finish was a lot heavier on one of these that was still in the package. Any insight on these? Thanks

To the best on recollection there was no writing on the tail on the originals. Later on they used a decal. The seal coat was quite thin as well.

Maybe the owner recoated it. Also has gold glitter in the epoxy. Package says it is Lac Seul perch so the pattern is true. Your right about the finish on the others I have...Thin for sure

For a long time they did put "Patent Pending" on the tail. That was during the first owners period. Second owner got the company 3 years ago I think and I am not sure if he was putting that on the tail anymore or not. Not sure about the original Mantas though if they had anything on the tails or not???

Originals didn't have print on tail. They started putting print on them when they came out with super shallow version. Looks like custom paint job with the glitter in it.

That is not a custom paint job. I have that original Lac Seul perch in that exact color with glitter in it. That is the way that color came.

Good to know. My originals were a flat color not super glossy. Maybe diffrent painters or in fine tuning stages.
I know my original orange bandit had like a glowing hue around it. Then they changed paint. Never could find that again.

If you have a hang 10 or three you want to get rid of...I'll take em'.

It's been my favorite bait now for two years. I've done quite well on the brighter colors, fished aggressive and fast and painfully slow.

Southern WI opener I got a few on the atomic carp and then in Dec. I got 5 on a custom painted firetiger. So, like I said, if you have any you want to unload, I'll take em.

Love it! Isn't it funny how we all have "those" baits that do it for us?! I'd go with the Hang 10 and the 6" softtail phantom as my, "you can pry em' from my cold, dead hands."
