Is there a safe cleaning solution for dusting replicas, or is it best to just use mild soap/water?

I use a swiffer. Or just a damp rag.

Swiffer duster and compressed air. Either a compressor using less than 40lbs to remove dust in tight places if you have one or compressed air canister that is used to clean key boards for tight spots. If you use a cloth and a conventional cleaner rubbing on the mount over time can dull the clear coat. The safest cleaner is a plexiglass glass cleaner and a soft cloth after the mount is dusted with the swiffer or blown off with air if available. The plexiglass cleaner puts down a protective film that allows the dust to be removed without scratching the clear coat the next time you clean it and is easy to use and leaves a nice finish. I've used this on my display cases for years and they look like new. There are no swirlier marks that you see on most cases after a few years and my mounts look like new too.
