See this thread located here on the main page. http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/board/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=10... "TV Shows Won't Name Lake"

If I remember right somebody said the actual lake name but there should be enough clues anyhow.

I won't mention it but with about 15 minutes of research I was able to figure it out. Using the WI DNR site and google earth it wasn't too hard. I have fun with their shows because whether small lakes, flowages or tiny rivers there's usually enough info to piece it together... and they are a very good watch.
I have my core waters and have never went to one of their locations... just fun to research and poke around in the winter months.

Yes, just enough to piece together when the aerial photos of dams or where cold water stream being fished, runs into the flowage, was flashed upon the screen. That was in past years. This year they have been keeping it under wraps quite nicely, while still offering the same great entertainment value.

Wish Fish TV and Saric had lied about my 1000 acre home lake there goes the neighbourhood. Oh well only an hours drive to the Larry.

I'll have to wait and see don't believe they stayed over night. I wouldn't kennel a dog in the only so called resort on the lake ( was a good place 10 owners and 35 years ago). The motel in town is Ok but usually filled by weddings or baseball tournaments. My understanding is the town spent $10,000 of taxpayer dollars to Fish TV to promote tourism but the people who come to town to fish bring everything with them and usually only come in for the day. Some may buy a coffee and donut from Tim Hortons or the big spenders might buy a pizza.

Years ago Tony Portancasio spelling probably wrong posted a picture taken here in the old Fishing Facts magazine captioned small lake in Wisconsin which is probably 10 hours away. I can remember 35 years ago guys from Illinois getting into arguments on main street one accusing the other of following him all the way from Illinois. Times sure have changed

Portincaso.

He was my Dad's fishing buddy for years and Zach's Math teacher in High School.

I worked with him at Tuffy for a few years. Good fisherman. Passed away a few years back.

Yep, Tony Boats. I ended up bringing the molds from Michigan to Tuffy after a strange journey for the tooling. They made the boat for a couple years after, called a Walleye Master.

That gang is the reason I got into musky fishing I would leave town every weekend to fish trout in Algonquin Park and when I got back to town I would run into some of them and think these guys are driving 10 or more hours to fish where I live and every weekend I go somewhere else.I gotta check this out, I've been saying I've been doing this for over 20 years but on reflection realize its closer to 40

OK, I'm starting to get it, but I do hate myself! I've been staying in a "rented" house on a saltwater lake for a month and, out-fishing myself and others when I go to the more "PUBLIC" waters. (Again, just a renter) So, these three guys who don't live here pull up into a vacant lot, like it was OK, and start jerking my fish and loudly congratulating themselves.....and I found myself saying, "WTF are they doing on MY lake?" So, again, I'm getting it....but I see no problem (intellectually) with the TV shows letting folks in on the action. The solution is to stock new lakes for them to try!

See even Marty does it. He says "my lake" instead of "my gulf" or "my ocean" to throw off the dogs and keep his spot secret!:-)

Seen the latest episode of KO last night. Always a great show. I think he mentions he was fishing blue narrows or yellow point, something like that.

Haha yeah I know what lake they are on and it's not SW Minnesota.

Brad as an Iowan I laughed out loud with the "Iowa" episode. It did make me curious enough to spend time figuring out what lake they were actually on and what state it was in. I'm all for it though, they don't ow anybody any free intel. I'm glad they at least try to keep the small gems a secret.

They did have one show in Iowa on a stream but if they ever film on a lake I do hope the show is titled something like "hidden gems of Nebraska"

To their defense they did say they moved lakes at the end of the show so maybe the first lake was in SW MN.

I believe I know the second lake they fished. If I am correct I wouldn't even consider that North Central.
