Does anyone know what type of knot to use when tying 7 strand steel wire. Ive been making my own quick strike rigs for the last few seasons, and i have always used crimps when attaching hooks and swivels. I see that some manufacturers dont use crimps at all and just tie a knot in the 7 strand.

What type of knot are they using?? Or do you know any way to tie a knot in 7 strand that wont slip?? I know alot of you guys have experience with making your own sucker rigs, please shed some light on how you make yours

A simple overhand knot is all you need. I put a small nail in a board and put the board in a bench vice, put swivel/snap on the nail. Loop through the swivel/snap twice, tie overhand knot and pull as tight as you can. Attach vice grip to tag end, pull the leader taunt and throw the vice grip around 7 times to wrap. I add shrink tubing to prevent tag end from picking up weeds.
