Lake of the Woods can be a very dangerous body of water, especially boating at night. I am here and this is very sad.

So very to hear this. A sober reminder that what we do is also very dangerous at times.

2 of the 3 victims remains have been recovered.

Very sad story, and an extremely unfortunate lesson on what never to try and attempt to do.

Very sad to hear this. Another sobering reminder to always wear a PFD when under power.

More than water temps I'd say its being fully clothed with possible jackets, boots, the works, as the article says they took off at 11:30PM so it was probably pretty cold. Swimming in t-shirt and jeans is hard enough. Sad Deal indeed.

I think it was also very, very windy that night.

And it's probably not fair to speculate, but I do wonder whether alcohol was a factor in the whole thing ( decision making, running the boat, reactions, etc..)
