Thinking about a week trip there next summer and would like to take my dad out with a guide. Time of trip currently unknown but likely later July or August.

Who would you recommend?

It would seem Andrew Judnick may know a thing or 2 about the lake too... All good options. Matt Seifert and AJ Weisner. Lots of good options. I'll take ya out if you want to save money and not catch fish. I'll be up there during that same time-frame.

Edit... Mike Brown is a young new guide that is fun to fish with and knows the lake well. He will be guiding out of Spring Bay next year as well.

Didn't say if it was one day of guiding or everyday
I would book 4
Luke because he's always on fish
Josh bovorosky because you will love the way he thinks about strategy and his perspective on the resource,,,,and he's on fish.
Bob Benson for a lot of the same reasons has Josh,,and he's on fish.
Matt Siefert because he will entertain and he's on fish- some very big ones this year.

A week with these 4 on different days would be a vermilion fun and knowledge buffet.

Mallard is King on Big V in my opinion(I've fished with alot of guides at one time/place or another). That's primarly all he has fished for many years along with Chad Cain long ago before most of the other guides were on Big V and flocked to it when the word got out on big skies .How many guys have caught a 40# and 50 # with the same guide or in their life as well ? Probably not alot but I have with Mallard! Email me for Pics as they are over 200 KB and will not post. Great fun to fish with Matt and he's a excellent teacher as well who does all he can do to put you on fish.

I spent a split day with Steve from Spring bay in August and he taught me a lot and was very patient with my inept performance. He is also good company in the boat and can tell lots of stories about the fish caught at every location we went too. Most importantly HE PUT ME ON FISH! Not his fault that I couldn't keep em hooked. I did take what I learned and caught my first musky a couple weeks later. Well worth the cost of admission.
