Posts: 114 | Looking for some advice here on 2013 1860 angler. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I previously owned a 08 619 which I have decided to downsize from. How does the ride of a 2012-14 1860 angler compare to a 07-12 ranger 619. I know the 619 is a extra foot longer and I'm guessing is a little smoother ride. I do a lot of fishing (musky) in the metro area and find that the 619 is not needed as much is for say you were fishing some of the larger northern lakes. I fish 90% metro water and 5% mille lacs and 5% Lake of the Woods. Whould the 1860 be able to handle a little wind on the larger lakes? What would you guys if you were in my shoes. Looking for any feedback from guys that run 1860. Thanks again!

Posts: 86 Location: Plymouth, MN | It should be fine. I have a 2010 1850 Reata which I believe is essentially the same hull, and I have been out in some decent winds on LOTW and Leech. I wouldn't expect to go anywhere fast in higher winds, but I always feel safe and stay fairly dry.

Posts: 403 | I have fished out of a 1860 last 5 years. Great boat! I fish Vermillion, Leech and Minnetonka without any concerns. It's a nice size for smaller waters and I can launch alone when I want to fish solo.

Posts: 153 | I have a friend that has a cabin in the Morson area of LOTW and he fishes out of an 1860. Has no issues. Great boat. I put that Maxxum you sold me a few years ago on my neighbors Doug boat this summer when his went down. Works good.

Posts: 194 Location: Lake Elmo, MN | I fish from a 620, but have heard a lot of very good things on the 1860 and a friend is considering buying one as well. One comment from another friend that actually has had one for a few years. he tells me his only regret is not getting the 619 he was considering, as the 1860 for him was a bit of a compromise to please the wife. He says the boat (to HIM) is not a pure fishing boat but more of a fishing/family boat.....and has features that are not as related to fishing as he would really like. He regrets buying the 1860 over the 619 ONLY for that reason. He says he wishes he had more of a "pure" (his words not mine) fishing rig. I think he's nuts, as he has a very nice boat.....but I know it bugs him daily. In my mind, a boat made by Ranger will serve you well. The key is to get the layout that suits YOUR needs. Good luck !!

Posts: 132 | I've been out in some pretty rough stuff in both a 619 and my 1850. I don't really know that one is better than the other... Other than the 619 can take a 225 while I have a 150 so you have better power with the 619. Other than that, they both ride well in the stuff.
