Not in the Minneapolis Metro area. I have been trying to force the issue for the last 10 ten days or so and it hasn't happened. We had five muskies chasing suckers yesterday on Harriet but none would commit. The water is too warm for really good action but I did catch a 49" last year in the middle of August with near 80 degree water temps, so you never know. I did catch one the weekend after Labor Day in Northern WI in 20 minutes or so. Happy hunting.

Yeah, that was us. We did catch a 35" pike on a sucker. A metro trophy pike!

With the water so warm how do you keep them alive and active? Up north where I am the water is still in the low-mid 60's... Got to be warmer there I would think..

Fished Saturday afternoon with a nice lively sucker down at all times, and two baits casting (three guys). Caught three fish - not a single strike on suckers. One on 10 blades, one on a medussa, one on a jake. And each fish was caught after working the spot at least twice, with the sucker dragging along, presumably right in their faces. Really weird considering the conditions and the area we were fishing.

We talked to a group that caught two on suckers in a similar type of spot the day before. Not sure why they didn't eat live bait Saturday.

They will really turn on to suckers after turnover. i cast when temps are where they are in the metro. No need for suckers yet.

Caught 1 on a medium sucker saturday and 1 on a medussa friday. Had a few chasing them. I feel if we had used the smaller ones they might have taken them. We were using the 14-17" sized suckers which usually pays off.

Had 2 fish follow in while dragging a large Medussa in only a matter of 5 minutes over the weekend. 4 hours of dragging live bait resulted in zero interest. It also hit 95 that day so that's super ideal for fall fishing.

I got a 50.5"er on a sucker over the weekend in northern Wisconsin. Missed two more. Casting was working too though.
