Last year for the opener, there were no leaves on the trees. We're heading to St. Germain for the weekend, hopefully to see green trees. Are they green yet?

No leaves on the trees yet, Be careful fishing as the ice is beginning to get soft and people are falling through.

Ranger, not sure where you have been fishing but I still need my auger extension where I've been. I would look for the muskie to be out off the first drop coming off any old weedbeds probably over mud. I would suggest large golden shiners rigged on a tip-up.

(Norm, I'm just fooling around with Jim. It's expected of me to do that, I'm a Yooper and he's from Chicago.)

Awesome!
Last year was brutal. It reminded me of fishing in the fall. The reason I ask is because my baby boy (8 months) is going on his first fishing trip, and I want everything to be as perfect as possible.....green trees and green grass will look great for all the pictures I plan on taking.

Oak trees have leaves starting...if you believe in old wise tales when the oak tree leaves are the size of a squirrel's ear, it's time to plant soybeans......my little tidbit of worthless trivia for the day hehhe.

Water temps will be in the 50s as we are expecting frost tonite, and no real significant warm up upper 60s for highs.
