Location: Illinois-Indiana | I used my Beckman as a holding pen and let her swim out when she was ready. Pretty cool picture, nice job on the camera Slamr. By the way, it's the fish on the cover. Attachments ---------------- beckman_net_6_release.jpg (21KB - 250 downloads)

Posts: 2427 Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | Ralphie, I have a Frabil Big Kahuna and I wouldn't trade it for nothing. These nets make perfect holding pens for the fish. Cool picture, and yes I am pissed I didn't get ahold of you to fish with you that weekend! I will remember that next time!!!!! Good job on the photo too AJ Mike Hulbert

Posts: 743 | Mike, you could consider using a beckman instead of frabil, if you are concerned about split fins. Edited by tomcat 5/14/2003 1:28 PM

Posts: 32958 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The Frabill Big Kahuna has coated mesh and a HUGE bag. I have netted quite a few in this net, and don't see split fins at all. Both nets are top quality, and both work really well.

But the round handle on the Beckman Net will snap into the Downeast Rodholder to give you a hands free Holding Pen! One hand for the Knipex Cutters and One hand to hold the Musky, while the whole time the fish is under the water within the safety of the Holding Pen,no lost gip fish floating away upside down! Capt. Posts: 938 Location: NeverNever Lake | That's what I'm talkin bout! I had to lose that big heavy on my Kahuna and replace it with a lighter bag of the Frabill nature. I do most of my own netting one handed so the heavy bag had to go. I'm considering a Beckman Pen for my Kahuna. I figure its got to be lighter and I may have the best of both worlds..................................RAZE

Posts: 172 Location: Chagrin Falls, Ohio | Anyone use the Frabill cradle that just came out? I just picked one up, hoping to reduce split fins completely. Haven't used it yet as I fish alone too often. Good fishin, Tyler Campbell

Posts: 516 Location: Kildeer, IL | That's a great picture Ralph, but do you ever miss that personal connection of releasing a fish by hand. That is my favorite part. When you are holding the Muskie's tail, waiting for it to swim off. There is something very cool about that feeling. Look at the attached picture to see what I mean. Posts: 5874 | Ralph can't do the hand release. His arms ain't long enough to reach the water to hold the ski by the tail! hehehe Edited by Shep 5/15/2003 3:29 PM
