Posts: 163 | So i picked me up a Kraken Creeper. Trying to find info (can't find much) on how to fish this thing. Any help or videos would be appreciated! I been missing a lot of strikes on prop baits so thought i'd give one of these a try. Should i shrink tube the rear hook? TIA Attachments ---------------- 0729151545.jpg (149KB - 462 downloads)

Location: Contrarian Island | reel it fast enough that it crawls nicely, too fast and you'll know it... too slow and it won't crawl ... I rarely if ever put a pause in throwing a creeper.

Posts: 163 | I assume you treat the hook set the same as other top water lures. WAIT till you feel the fish before setting the hook?

Posts: 20218 Location: oswego, il | Wow, I will have to give this a try, I was giving them a hard rip, they would tumble end over end on the surface and if not the first rip, certainly the second, they would be completely tangled on my leader.

Posts: 386 | I fish creepers frequently after dark, if it's calm. I'll all one thing to what's been posted. I HIGHLY suggest stopping the bait 10' or so from the boat for a few seconds and starting again. But I very rarely throw creepers during laylight unless I know exactly where a big fish is.

Posts: 239 Location: Elroy, Wisconsin | You want to fish a creeper slow-slow-slow....a rhythmic sound on the wings when done right makes it one the best surface ever created. first one was by Heddon, the Crazy Crawler, followed by the phenominal Le Boef Creeper, my favorite. I have caught many 45" plus on the Le Boef. Just get the rhymic sound on flat water and set when you feel. Mudpuppy

Posts: 386 | Caught a nice 43" on a Creeper at 10:45 tonight to FINALLY put a fish in the boat in the last week. Creeper's can be very finicky but I've found the ones from Bitten Tackle to be the best ones out there currently manufactured. You couldn't pry my Hi Fin's out of my cold, dead hands though. Black is always my go to but I'm not afraid to throw a little color into the mix if the moon is out, like tonight.

At the beginning of the cast I like to let the creeper sit a minute or so to let the ripples settle. Then like others do I pause again near the end of the cast and then walk it around the boat. Set when you feel the fish, not when it scares the sh!!t out of you. I make my own creepers. Attachments ---------------- rsz_1creepers.jpg (91KB - 392 downloads)

Posts: 59 Location: Fifield | Bitten creepers run amazing! They can be fished ridiculously slow and still function perfect.
