| Hello All,
I am wondering if anyone would happen to know the best way to replace the middle hook on a pacemaker? Also type/size of Hook that works best? One of the trebles broke off last summer and I have not gotten around to replacing it yet. I also could have sworn i saw a picture of a pacemaker somewhere without a middle hook but rather a straightened piece of metal/wire to act as the clicker, but could not find the picture of it.. Any info is much Appreciated. Thank you!

Location: Northern Illinois | I just attach a bunch of split rings in a row. Different sound but seems to do very good. Just keep putting them on until you heard the "Clack" sound. |

| You can attach lots of different things to change the click. Differing treble hook shanks (differing thicknesses) change sound. A straightened siwash hook. a section of bucktail shaft. Cotter pin. Aluminum pin. Brass pin. Welding rods. Play with lengths, diameters, metal densities until you hear what you like. Also, different shafts hang lower/ride higher and impact the blade in ways that make it easier/harder to spin the blade on the retrieve, which can facilitate slower/faster retrieves..
Oe else just throw the bait if it still clacks. It will get bit, somtimes. |

Location: WI | Bend out the hook hanger with pliers, put on new hook. Clip one hook off the treble. Make sure to clip it the same as a factory one. |

X2, I often would get the hook to hang up on the tail during the "L" turn and it would quit turning. So I just cut all the points off and let the hook shank hit the tail. |

Location: north central wisconsin | I like running a hook in that position, and always have Ryan put an Eagle Claw beak hook on my tapdancers(predecessor to the pacemaker). The beak hook points don't get hung up or 'stick' into the lure when cast. |

Anyone know what size/type hook is used in the middle? I tried replacing with a Mustad 5/0 but it seems too short. |

Location: Hayward, WI | I believe Eagle Claw 774 4/0 on the small one and 5/0 on the big one. At least that's what the wood ones used to be. Not sure if that changed with the plastic ones. |

Location: MN | Oh I see, you mean you cut ALL of the prongs off the center hook. I was thinking you meant cut a single prong off of the front or rear treble. Pardon the confusion. |
