Location: Chaska, MN | I have a 150 HP Yamaha with a 3 blade 19P Murcury Tempest stainless prop on my 2005 Ranger Reatta and since the current prop has been fixed a few times, I wanted to buy a new prop and use the current one for my Canada trolling prop. I am leaning toward a 4 blade prop (Murcury Elite Trophy Plus) and wondered if I should go with the same pitch or if there is a reason to change pitch due to the extra blade. Right now the 19P does 44 MPH @5500 RPM trimmed out. Any concerns, feedback or suggestions are appreciated. |

Location: MN | What if any thing would you want to improve on your current performance. Hole shot, lower speed plane, top end speed , handeling ect. I think with more info you can get better feedback. |

| General rule of thumb is to subtract an inch of pitch when going from 3 blade to 4 blade. Tempest are designed to lift the nose and trophy's are more of a stern lifting prop. Each boat is different though. |

Location: Minnesota | I'm getting 5900 to 6000 RPM'S with my Yamaha F 150 I'm running a 19 pitch as well your motor is not getting it's full RPM'S you need to drop down pitch . What are you looking to get out of a new prop speed hole shot? |

Location: Chaska, MN | I am looking for more control in rough water and a better hole shot for pulling the kids in water sports. The Outdoor News had a article last spring that recommended a 4 blade prop for fish n ski boats like the Reatta. |

| If you are looking to increase hole shot and performance cornering, (great for tubing and water skiing) drop down to an 18 pitch, 4 blade Power Tech prop. You wil increase your RPM's a little, might give up .5 to 1 MPH. I have a 2010 ranger Reata 1850 with a Yamaha F150, with the 18 pitch 4 blade Power Tech prop I am getting 5900 rpm and about 46.5 mph. |

If you decide to go to a 4 blade, you will definitely want to drop down in pitch. My suggestion would be to a 17 pitch, assuming you are running a 4 stroke motor, which will have a max rpm of 6000.
Now...depending on what you are looking for, you have lots of options, although the REV4 from mercury is a great prop for lifting the entire boat. Pair that with the ability to tailor the size of the vent hole with different plugs, you can really dial in the prop to your liking.
If you like the tempest, the Rev4 has the same blade geometry so it will perform much the same, but with more handling capabilities due to the 4th blade in the water. The drop in pitch and extra blade will help keep the boat on plane at lower RPM levels for pulling tubes and skiiers, making it a very good prop for what you are looking for.

Location: Hayward, WI | I would not recommend a Trophy on that setup, a Rev 4 would be a much better choice if you want to go to a 4 blade. You might also look at the High 5 for water sports and rough water handling. |
