| Hey all,
Had the opportunity to fish Webster Lake on Friday and Saturday.
Here are the conditions we had:
Water temp was between 72-74F, lots of floating weed bits and duckweed patches mid lake and on the windblown side. Wind was North East.
Water clarity was down with the wind blown sides of the lake showing some green stain and brown stain in areas.
Recreational boat traffic was moderate on Friday, Heavy on Saturday.
The DNR was out in force Saturday and was doing a great job of keeping the dangerous ones in check, doing stops and checks. We talked to one officer, who was only interested in the pleasure boaters (didn't check our licenses) and if we had any complaints about them. A DNR rep. was out doing a creel survey and asked about weed conditions and our catches.
The Muskies were hot, we had a total of 5 on the line and managed to put two in the bag in approximately 8 hours of total fishing time (Friday AM,PM - Sat AM,PM) fish seemed active mostly in the dawn and dusk times with one being caught mid afternoon (my son's first!) during a break from tubing.
Two of the fish that were on line but got away were 48"+ class fish. Both were seen but managed to get enough line to throw the hook after coming to the surface.
HTH,
