Opener arrived to warmer water temps than the previous couple of years with an earlier ice out and some decent air temps the week or two leading up to the 3rd Saturday of June.

Activity has been mostly found in shallow bays and areas with emerging weeds. Weeds are a bit behind as water levels have rose a lot since near record lows to start the open water season.

Water temps are currently high 60s most areas and get over 70 in the shallows when the sun shines.

Small cranks have been the hottest reported tool to get fish to show themselves and commit.

Have been a few biggies spotted, but biggest I have heard caught from people coming and going through the resort is a healthy, clean 47.

Weather has been up and down with rain, wind and some t-storms the past couple of days so nothing stable. Forecast has more possible storms this evening, and in a couple of days, but more sunshine after today.

Good luck out there.

One of our groups reported good rock and rock related activity in the afternoon and evening of 6/24. Nobody has been fishing much of the mid-lake stuff yet, but points and broken rock shorelines, rock complexes near islands are starting to hold fish.

Just returned from Mylie's and I can assure you there is not a finer fishing camp anywhere. 8 boated in 4 days and twice that many should have been. Saw more fish then I could count. If I ever learn to turn chasers into strikers and get a hook into them while I'm at it this place could make me famous. Found them mostly off rock / weed points projecting into main lake areas. Plenty of last light action on larger bay rock structure as well. Just have Justin point you in the right direction and prepare for the time of your life - - - -

Talk to a few more boats after the weekend and the common thread was rocks & crankbaits.

Water temps 70ish.

We now have our first bigger bunch of muskie boats in camp this week so I should be able to get some intel on conditions and activity. There has been some fish in both shallow, weedy bays as well as rock structures. Bucktails have also started to produce from follows and strikes. Several big girls spotted already in the short time since people arrived for the week on Saturday. A nice 47 was landed right off the bat Saturday evening on a bucktail in a saddle with sands, weeds and boulders.

Cold front came through after a Saturday night and Sunday afternoon set of t-storms. Water temps were well over 70 in the shallows, but will cool a bit the next day or two with a air temp high of 63 in the forecast.

Keep your baits in the water!
