So, been off the Chain for a while.....and the launch fees have climbed a bit. Read up on the free launch at the state park and it seems almost too good to be true. Do any of you or have any of you used the launch? Pros? Cons?

Thanks in advance.

It's a nice launch it can get very busy with people that can't back up a trailer.

It is also not very close to where you would like to fish.

Okay, so a few opinions. Where are you guys launching, if other than Barnacle Bob's? Seems everyone is at the $15 mark. Anywhere else that is cheaper and on a main lake?

The old thirsty turtle it changed names recently I don't know what it's called now but it will put you where you want to be.

The state park launch is very nice. Have never had to wait there, even on
weekends. They have like 4 bays to put in and out. You can be fishing on
Lake Marie in about 15 minutes. ( you have to idle in and out of the channels).
I launch at Musky Tales on 173 on Channel Lake, 10 bucks a shot or season
pass for $150. Have fun.

I appreciate the input. Going to give the park a try until the channel travel drives me nuts. Is musky tales the old Mentones?

State park is a very nice launch but like said it can get busy on the weekends and is a ride to ideal water. It is free unless you stay after 8 or 9PM then you need to leave 8 bucks in the drop box or pay at the gate.
I launch at Musky Tales and have a season pass, FRV Muskies Inc members get a season pass for 125.00 non member 150.00 or 10.00 daily for anyone untill 10PM. I have never had any parking issues at Musky Tales either.
