Not a problem unique to out of state boaters. At a muskie tournament in Oneida county a couple years ago, a tournament with almost all local folks and put on by a local club, volunteer inspectors found aquatic vegetation on over a third of the 30 plus boats in the tournament. In Oneida county, transporting any form of aquatic vegetation on your boat/trailer is an ordinance violation and min. fine of over $200. At least one of the boats did have Eurasian milfoil, although it had been four or five days since the boat had been in the water and probably dead. One of the volunteers said a number of the boats had big clumps of weeds hanging off the fenders, frames.

The club organizers were disappointed that their own members were so oblivious, since they had been active in the clean water/clean boat efforts.

How do you end up with thousands on your boat and not notice? I get upset when my boat gets water stains.

Your making the assumption that everyone cares, aware or smart enough. I would be willing to bet don't care, there are plenty of people like that on out waters. We had a troubled youth outing on a private lake Saturday, a lake front owner who refuses to pay lake association dues tells our club president who was loading his boat and the people who were in line to load they were trespassing and he was next which he went. He then filmed a guy backing my rig in. He was pointed out to me but he made it to his property before I could catch up with him. I only had one question I was going to ask him, if he thought his video of my truck was as good as the one I made with his wife!
