I just got my 46" musky skin mount from Ebay and pretty much every bottom fin has a crack in it. Body is in good overall shape. I was wondering if you guys have any idea of a decent taxidermist in Chicago area, nw suburbs to be specific, that will restore the fins for fairly cheap. Doesnt have to be a stunning job, just so it wont be as visible as it is now, since the fish cost me $200. Also if you guys have any idea of the cost. I had one guy quote me $250, kinda doesnt make sense since the fish cost was less. Especially when the fish wasnt caught by me a doesnt have any sentimental value. The guy that sold it to me mentioned that fins have some cracks but I didn't expect that it will be so eye catching.
Thx
