I don't know how the WINNERS caught their fish, but I can tell you how I saw 6 fish.
I fished Catherine and Channel, the North end had very clear water, I worked shallow (6' of water to the shore). In the first 15 minutes, I raised a nice 42" fish in 2' of water, she got one look at my partner and took off. HA HA
I raised fish twitching Slammers, on an Undertaker and a Phantom, I even caught a 2# largemouth on a small Phantom. |

| I snagged a 15 pound carp on a firetiger monster shad while fishing airport bay. I thought I hooked up that state record musky that was shocked up in there. Carp fight well when you snag them in the tail. Go Chain go! |

| John,
Try something in a Perch color (white belly, not orange)in a glide/jerk bait. Like an earlier thread, MOVE SLOW! That is what I throw out there early in the year. Its what I was throwing during the tourney last Sat. and it was enough to land me a fish that helped pay for my lodging and a couple of canned cocktails! Good luck! |
