Anybody using the Hang 10 Manta yet this year?
I have had some great luck so far and was wondering if anyone else had.
I have had 43 fish up on them in the last 2 1/2 days landing a 41, 43, and 38. It seems they can't resist the big whopple at the end of the glide. It already put a 51 in the boat for me this year and in the past couple of days has raised sime hogs. Last month they liked the small one but now it's the Hang 10.
Hook set percentage has been fantastic.

Wow, I hope I have that kind of luck, I am one of the few who has good luck with the original version, I can't wait to toss the Hang 10.

Had a Hang Ten skate board about 40 years ago, and we used to "hang ten" surfing, but have not tried the Tibetan monk Mantra route YET...watch for a robed Paul Peck, standing on the bow of the boat at sun rise w/ head shaven...when that day arrives in May, then you will see RESULTS!! aaaaooooohhhmmmmmmm.....

Tony,

You had 43 follows and 3-4 hookups... Are they hitting it or just chasing?

I love how easy the smaller Manta worked and found it to be a great search bait but had a heck of time getting them to eat it...Sounds like Hang 10 is following this pattern unless I'm reading your post wrong.

Tony, I custom painted 2 of them the other day. I put 2 coats of crystal sheen with ultra fine glitter in it. For some added flash I brushed some sheen on the tail then sprinkled some glitter on it.(flash out the ash) I threw it today for a while and the action is unbelievable. This bait will put fish in the boat! I use 40# fluorocarbon leader material for line on my jerkbait rod. It has way less stretch than mono and when I slack line hit that Hang Ten it will glide 6' to the side and just hang till I hit it again.

Who cares if the fish like it, damn thing's fun to work!

Make sure you burn some incense while chanting!

I have found if you really pop the Manta when experencing follows you will get them to hit. Pop and pause, quick pulls and glides turns them on.
The Hang 10 has such a belly roll at the end of the glide I think that movement gets them.
Steve we have been successful on Smallmouth, OrangeTiger and Baitfish. doesn't seem to be the color as much as the movement.
I'll bet there are some real bigs caught on the Hang 10 this year, but at times it seems the fish want the smaller model.
I have six Hang 10 fish this year with 4 over forty inches. We have released nine fish on the regular sized Manta. Again when more follows accure than strikes really speed it up and POP and PAUSE it. Extra wide figure eights work best with this bait.
