Looks like 5:1 gearing with a 22-lb drag. Sounds like a well-built reel, but they don't give a bearing count. Also, don't say whether it has a disengaging levelwind. And is "tension clicker" a clicker on the drag adjustment, or is it a "bait clicker"? Wonder what the price point is/will be.

Posts: 212 Location: Wisconsin | Bearing looks like 12+1 from the link that was attached. Looks like a nice reel if round is your thing.

Posts: 72 | The only problem I see with this reel is that it has only a 90mm handle. Dont understand why they dont make a 100 or even a 110mm handle with that tank of a reel.

Non-disengaging/synchronous levelwinds require energy to move. With heavier spools/lures this isn't much of an issue, but it does take energy to move the levelwind.

Posts: 72 | I think it will have a synchronized levelwind, just like the bay jigging has. Also has the same casting brake system as the bay jigging.

Posts: 46 | This reel was designed for ripping 20+lb snakeheads out of lily pads. Im sure it will be tough enough for muskie. They say its tuned for throwing plastic frogs and lighter baits, not sure what that would mean if one tried to use it for "normal" muskie baits. This reel is the replacement for this http://www.japantackle.com/Daiwa/Daiwa_BlackSheep.htm so maybe some research on the previous reel would shed some light on its muskie worthiness
