Posts: 427 | I have had several different reels from several different companies and I have had better luck with my diawa luna than any other. I have send it in every other year to be serviced and have the AR bearing replaced and it is as smooth today as it was four years ago.

Posts: 31 Location: Illinois | Your buddy's reel is always the best option!!!! Same as with the boat, rods, and beer,,, your buddy's is better and cheaper! Round out the package by using his/her baits!

Posts: 164 | I just took my NACL 60 out the other day. Its the 6.4:1. I must say I was slightly disappointed. Not that the reel didn't perform, but due to the fact that I still prefer my Curado 300 over the NACl. Maybe I should of gotten the 5.4:1 as I keep hearing these are the better all around reels.

Posts: 20257 Location: oswego, il | Why Shimano? I find them to be very reliable reels with great service. Another great strong reel is the Penn 975, 965 and 955.

Posts: 3 | I like my 400 D, I had a Revo Toro 5.4, I really like it but it got a little noisy after a year of abuse. I am known to be somewhat abusive to my gear though .

Posts: 548 Location: MN | I ended up with the Calcutta 401D. And J if your reel is noisy probably just needs cleaning and lube. I've never done a Revo but a baitcaster is a baitcaster. My 6501's get the treatment every year. Very easy to maintain most of these reels.

I always lube them and i'm sure a little cleaning would help, that being said I have had my Calcutta for 2 years and its holding up well.
