Pre-straightened, kink-resistant stainless steel. I use the brown in 0.024, 0.026 or 0.029, depending on what it's for. Most of mine are 0.029, though. Made in USA, in Michigan, I believe. Great stuff for a good price, about $11 for 1/4-lb coil.

Dumb question if I get this and cut a 12 inch section it's 100% despite Being coiled up?

i'm assuming you mean straight. yes it will be almost perfectly straight even though it comes off a coil like that. you'll have to experiment on the length you'll need to cut to off to make a finished 12" leader. lure parts online has all the tools you'll need also. use you tube for videos and how to's. you'll save bundles doing yourself.

174lb is good but I go as light as 105lb for lighter small glide baits. Weight is key. It won't break but it will bend all to hell. Can be straightened and cheap enough to replace.

Yes 100% straight is what I was trying to type, that's great to know. Thanks for the info it could be used for bucktail wire too.

Yes; it's straight as an arrow when uncoiled.

use the wire made for making bucktails, not the leader wire. it has different properties that make it stiffer. i use three sizes;
.045 - smaller buctails like 700 bucher tails
.051 - for #8 blades double or single
.063 - for #10 blades or larger double or single
you can get them just straight or pre-looped on one end. good luck.
