Looking for rod 8' or over, heavy or XH. Using baits up to 8 oz. I have my rods for lure sizes up to 3 oz. Need something decent to use with my bigger baits. Would like to not spend over $150.

Ever looked at Tackle Industries? 8'HX, Extra Mag Heavy, rated 3-12oz, MF action. Decent rods for the $$$. Rod will easily handle Mag dawgs, dbl 10's and heavy glide/jerkbaits.

I have an 8' St. Croix Premier Heavy full cork for $125.00 & a 8'6" Predator Heavy full cork made with a G Loomis blank for $150.00. I'm going to be at the Minnesota Musky Expo Saturday if we could meet up. Also have a couple Diawa Luna's for $150.00 each if interested.

Are you sure the Predator is made with a G Loomis blank? Gary Loomis had said the one thing he didn't like about selling the company to Shimano was that they now only make blanks to be used in G. Loomis rods & not rods for custom builders. If this is a Thorne Brothers Predator rod St. Croix makes their blanks.

I want to stay in that Heavy to XH range. I've read good things about the TI rods. I think that the Premier HF would get the job done for me too. I've never read anything negative about TI or St Croix.

Go with the 8' st. Croix. I have one and its one of my favorites. Can throw small baits to mag dawgs. Plus its made in the USA.

This is a little older Predator 8'6" Heavy rod, it has Thorne Brothers G Loomis written on the rod. The only negative thing is a Tranx doesn't fit in the reel seat. It has a little rod locker rash otherwise a nice rod. Full cork $150.00 plus shipping or we can meet Saturday at the Musky Expo.

I have an 8'6" XH Abu Volatile used 2 times. I could probably let it go for $90 shipped. Pm if interested. I just have way too many rods and not enough quality reels for them.
