Posts: 688 Location: Northern IL | The key word for any and all good movements (activity) is "Stability". Without stability in weather and or water conditions fishing will be though. Fish can be caught in good numbers in dark water as well as in clear water providing the water is stable. An unstable water condition is where it's a departure from normal. Water color breaks down into 5 different categories, listing them from best to worst. #1) White Sandy 2)Red Sandy 3) Yellow Green 4) Clear & 5) Cypress. Below is an example of a lake with great water color in a stable water condition (Red Sandy). If this color was caused by run off from a storm on a clear water lake this lake would be unstable and slim pickins. Posts: 70 | loud coloured baits worked slower then normal has been my ticket. the fish need a bit of help locating the bait so thump , colour and spd are changed. big thump, slower spd and crazy colours, . The water here after a storm is like a good bowl of pea soup, vis at times can be little as 8 inches someone mentioned he/she has never hooked a fish on white, that is a good colour. i love fishing the soupy days, less boats but less fish , forces this old dog to learn a new trick.

Posts: 455 | That's the way it goes in those outings. My buddies young son got a 54" one time on the Ottawa and someone beat him with a 57". You can get them in muddy water with bright high vibration lures.
