Location: NorthCentral WI		A quick dip of the board before you pull the fish out of the net is all that is needed. No need to soak it like an old wooden Suick. I have forgotten a few times too though.

Location: Hayward, WI		Yup, dip the board in the lake before measuring. I'll also admit to forgetting a time or two, but almost always do it.

Location: NE Ohio		the board floats so i have even measured some warn-out fish on it in the water.
