Going to Shelbs to camp and hunt the elusive esox this weekend, anybody have a current report or pattern? I will check back later today before I leave for the latest news. I'll be sure to post monday sometime when I get back into town what was working, till then good luck and good fishing. Tim

Fished Shelbyville this weekend 4/26 - 4/27. Bluebird skies 75 degree air temp and 5-10 mph winds out of the North switching to the SW on the 27. Water was clear early saturday but got a lot darker later in the day. We didn't move anything casting the shore (laydowns or stumps) so decided to troll a little. Got a 36" to bite trolling a monster shad over 30 feet of water. That was the only fish we managed for the weekend, anybody else do any good?

The Lake Shelbyville Muskie Club had an outing on Sunday. We launched out of Lithia Springs to find 3-4 trollers already working the cove, mostly inside the no wake area. One guy I talked with had 3 that morning and it was only 8 am when we spoke. Another boat I heard did fairly well also with 2 for the morning. Both boats used planer boards, one in-line, the other ski and mast.
Despite the success of the trollers all the club members started casting. One new member of the club followed my lead and started fishing right at the ramp and followed me around the point fishing in and around the moored boats. My partner and I didn't see a thing but the new member caught a couple within minutes of each other (37 and 38) to take top honors for the day.
Another new member caught a 38 also in Buoy cove around 9:30 near where I had my only follow of the day.
Lake is still down 5.5'(see below)

from summer pool. I thought the lake was as clear as I've ever seen it with water temps going from 58.5 to 62 during the day.
A lot of regulars were out there but I never got a report from any of them.

Jay,
Are you the guy that I met in Stacko's, in Mokena? If it was you, thanks for the info regarding the IMTT.
