Posts: 39 | Anyone ever try it? I'm going to have Cisco tracks custom made with holes drilled in center. How do you think it'll turn out?

Posts: 531 | Are you going to off set the track so it is flush to the outside? So 1/2" will be sticking inboard. Should work out just fine. Will the standard hole pattern still be present in the track? If so use every bolt hole you can to mount the track.

Here's what I did on my Tracker, which has a thick-wall, hollow extruded gunnel. Works great and is very strong. For the outer holes, I drilled inward at a slight angle so the washers and nut were inside the hull and didn't damage it. I also offset it inward so the outer edge didn't protrude beyond the rub rail. http://s111.photobucket.com/user/hemichemi/media/CIMG2035smaller.jp... http://s111.photobucket.com/user/hemichemi/media/CIMG2038Smaller.jp... http://s111.photobucket.com/user/hemichemi/media/CIMG2028Small.jpg....

Posts: 39 | I would make it flush with the outside if that is what is recommending. It's a crestliner, the gunnels are pretty thick, not anywhere as thin as the gunnels on your tracker in the picture chemi

Location: Grand Rapids, MI | My gunwales are much wider but if I had to do it over I would have installed stainless rails and mounted the tracks to the rails.

Posts: 531 | Nothing wrong with the track hanging inboard a hair. If it is hard to reach to nut the bolt, just carefully drill and tap the gunnel if it is thick enough.
