Finally the weather broke just enough i could get my boat on the river! I know too a lot of you fisherman, muskys are not the fish of ten thousand casts. Muskys are still the fish of (at least) ten thousand casts to this VA boy, so this fish was hugely exciting for me today. This is just my third year of musky fishing and since i have joined this forum i have enjoyed expanding my knowledge of this sport through the knowledge you guys share! So thanks to EVERYONE who contributes!

The hot bait (see pic). No moon/sun event according to the source i look at. However, winter storm headed our way, maybe that did the trick! Thanks for all the compliments guys.

One thing I checked was the air pressure for the time i caught the fish. It was holding steady at 29.9 for that time window. Maybe there is something to that. I have heard guys say that is the optimum pressure.

My better days musky fishing have been when the barometer was between 29.92 & 29.95. Also had a good day last year when the barometer was 30.41. I didn't think it even went that high.

Nice going tossing that bait. I hope she "owned you" for awhile. I love it when they do that!

Nice job! Forecast is in the 40s and going up. Might be able to get on the water sooner than later here in Northern IL.
