Has anybody crossed at Fort Erie lately? How bad is it?

Thanks in advance.

Our local TV station covered the story last night. Going into Canada wasn't to much different than before the terrorists, but coming back into the USA was very involved. The crossings into lower Michigan took hours!

Crossing at the Peace Bridge the last few days has been taking about 20 minutes going into Canada and 40 minutes returning to the U.S..Border Patrol is watching the Border via water very close, when you land by water and call Canadian Imigration expect a long phone call, also expect to be boarded by the Coast Guard or Border Patrol at anytime for inspection, especialy at night. I crossed the Fort Erie "Peace Bridge" Sept. 22, 2001 at aprox. 10:00 am. There was at that time zero wait and very minimal traffic. However the wait appeared to be much longer and traffic much heavier heading into Canada. (3 lanes entire length of bridge)I hope this is helpful in your planning. Drive Safely, Doc

Had a friend go up and back the week of the terrorist attacks and he said that crossing into Canada was no problem, but getting into the USA on Friday morning was a two hour wait. All of the cars and truck where being checked. I would have to think that on Saturdays it would be worse.

An hour or two would be a small price to pay if increased security nabs the next jerk bent on killing a bunch of innocent folks. I will wait patiently.[8)]

I agree. Probably still too easy for these proffessional types to get in though.

I'll be hitting the border around 3 A.M.
