Location: Vilas County, WI | I recommend Moose Jaw. Cabins, bar/restaurant, and camping all on sight. Plus bait, ice, piers, ATV trails, among other amenities. The food is awesome but on the weekends service can get a little slow if the restaurant gets packed.
I've caught muskie in Pike, Round, and Turner. I haven't scored in Amik but I know those who have. I don't think this chain gets a ton of musky pressure.
For Round Lake, find the weedlines along the shore - there's plenty of them. Crankbaits over the rock humps. Pike Lake, weed edge on the west shore. And anywhere in or around the island/rock piles. Be careful there though - boulders come up pretty high. They're shown on most maps. Turner is pretty small - I do one quick lap around the lake and move on. |
