Location: Wisconsin | I am a student in Madison, and I am looking to take a trip south during my spring break. My two top choices are Melton Hill or Cave Run. Anyone have opinions about these two during the month of March, or have another suggestion? I am open to any waters that might be good during March.
I dont have much money to spare, so I don't want to waste my time going if some of you with experience down there would advise otherwise.

Location: Otsego, MN | I went down to Cave Run last spring and they have an annual deal through Gregg Thomas or Tony Grant for 2 days of guided fishing and 3 nights lodging for under $600. That's for two people as well! My buddy and I did the whole trip for <$400ea last year and had a blast. |

Real good trolling and casting water.
Lots of lodging options nearby in Oak Ridge and not a bad drive from Knoxville with more things to do. |

| As others on here have said on here it depends on what you are looking for. If you are just looking for action(numbers) and are not really that concerned about trophy potential I would recommend driving probably half the distance and look at spring lake in Illinois. You are not going to catch a giant out there but it is very easy to fish and is loaded with fish in the thirty inch range. The first time I fished it was in a one day tourney. There were about 30 boats in a one day tourney, I caught three fish, lost a couple a and did not even place in the tourney. |

| kinkaid is an awesome lake that does have some nice fish in it however it doesn't compare to spring as far as action. if you want a beautiful lake with pretty good numbers and decent trophy potential I would go to kinkaid. if you want a less scenic lake that is loaded with fun size fish go to spring. if you decide to go to an illinois lake shoot me a pm and I will try to help you out.

| Check out wv musky outfitters. They are catching a lot of good fish on wv rivers and spring is a great time. |

| I was directed to chime in. Tennessee has various waters that offer either specialized trophy opportunities (Melton) or more consistent numbers with some Giants (Rock Island) and a few aces I have up my sleeve. TBH guys I really hate boards. But if you have any questions, give me a ring at 931-261-2483. Be happy to talk.
