Random quote: Muskies are nasty. They stink. They taste bad. They are hard to catch and will disappoint even the most devoted angler. The lures required cost more than some women's jewelry. The rods and reels require a remortgage of the house. The boat is always worth more than the tow vehicle. Sure beats the hell out of golf.

I want to make a mold for some resin baits. The master I will be making the mold from is Maple with very little grain. My plan is to make a one piece mold, so the questions I have for you guys... If I use the wood blank to make the master silicone mold, will the grain of the wood be raised by the silicone?...Do I need to seal the blank first before casting it? Thanks

The mold will show every bit of grain from the wood. you will want to seal it before you make the mold.
