Posts: 164 | So I have had my eye on the Revo Toro Nacl 6.4:1 ratio for quite a while now. I used my buddies once and basically fell in love with it. However, it was out of my price range and lets face it, if I buy the reel I would have to drop a pretty penny on a rod as well. Yesterday my wife and I were at Joe's in St Paul and to my surprise I find the reel attached to a rod for $315.00. I figured the rod was just some cheapo. It was an Abu Garcia Volatile rod (Which I don't know much about) in the 8'6'' Extra Heavy which retailed for 149.95. Read some reviews online and they were all favorable for the most part. The reel itself retails for 299.95. Anyway, you are basically getting a rod for 15 dollars with the purchase of the reel. My only concern was not getting the box for the reel, the power handle and your free little bottle of lube. I asked the guy in the fishing department and he went and grabbed the manual, the box, the power hand and a little bottle of lube. I thought it was a pretty good deal and the reason I am posting is if anybody else is interested and from the area they had four left in stock and I believe they are going to quit the deal when they run out. FYI: I by no means work for this store, I am just a muskie fisherman on a budget and have been looking for a package deal for quite sometime now. I believe what I bought was well worth it and just wanted to spread the word in-case any of my fellow muskie fisherman on a budget are looking for a deal.

Posts: 230 Location: St Paul, Minnesota | My Tournament Partner won one of these combos last year during the Frank Schneider tournament, while he and I mainly use St. Croix Legend Tournaments and Shimano reels, here's my thoughts and how we use it: -This is a pretty good deal if you're going to buy a new NaCl at or near full price, because you get the reel and a rod at a fraction of it's full retail value, and at a lower cost than pretty much any other musky rod on the market. -I think it's fair to say that the rod is not up there with the higher end rods of our musky world, but it is a decently stiff rod that could toss regular and even magnum rubber baits pretty decently, and makes for a solid spare/back-up rod and a great loner rod if you bring a guest in your boat and are hesitant to hand them a $300+ rod. -My Tournament partner used the rod for sucker fishing this fall and really liked it. Considering you'd be getting it for like $20 (which in musky fishing is the cost of a lure), that's not a bad rod to subject to cold late season fall sucker conditions. Just my two cents, -C7
