| Have my first two days invested on the Cave, it's tough but shows signs of improving. Lake levels are dropping quickly, almost a foot a day. It's muddy in most all places but major feeder creeks. Got the first fish of the year in my boat today on a Manta from MUDDY flooded timber on the Zilpo Flats. Doesn't seem that they have moved shallow in there usual numbers. Missed one Friday on a Bait Rig reaper as it blew up at the boat and today we one smash an 8" Jake. All baits were very bright colored. Fridays water temps 39 to 42 today 45 tp 54. Rains are predicted for the rest of the week, just hope they don't amount to much. The Ohio River is in good shape to handle our draw for now. Looking forward to a great week with the "MUSKIEFIRSTERS" next week. | |||

Posts: 2691 Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | Tony keep us updated on the Cave. We are all so pumped to get down to your water. JUST A POST A DAY WILL KEEP THE JITTERS AWAY. Well down to harmless shakes. I need to get some slime on my hands bad.

| I can understand your excitement Mike, but lets not read this again...make it like Christmas morning! That way the thrill will be twice as fun...actually I would like to Tony expound on a weather related post about 2-3 days just prior, enabling us to somewhat narrow down excess baggage... | |||

Posts: 172 | UPDATE The Cave is still a few weeks behind. Things look like they are coming alive, just in time. Moving 2 to 3 fish per day but eaters have been few. Yesterday we caught 2 on twitch baits on points in deeper water, today Dave boated one on a 6 inch Jake and my boat lost one on a Manta and seen only one other. Mike Hulbert lost a nice fish also on a twitch bait. All these fish have been related to timber. Rattle Traps and trolling have still not produced but its about to happen. No weeds to be found except a few small areas, timber will hold fish. I have moved fish over the past week on Mantas 4 Baby Shallow raiders 5 006 4 Shallow raiders 3 Most all of these fish have been shallow but the last two days have shown fish deeper. See you guys when you get down.

Posts: 2427 Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | UPDATE....UPDATE.....UPDATE.....UPDATE.....UPDATE.....UPDATE.....UPDATE... Things have changed here over the the past 2 days. Char. with black has really been the ticket. 5-6 fish were caught today in Beaver Creek on a variety of baits, but all Char. and Black. Several others were caught that me and Tony know of today on the lake, mostly all CHAR. and BLACK The hot lures have been the Manta, Sledge, Shad Rap, and any other twitch and jerkbait in char. and black. The Sledge lost a PIG today, easily 30 pounder. Hit once, got off, next cast hit again and the leader snap pull completely straight. Will let you know if anything changes. Mike Hulbert
