Random quote: Its all fun and games 'till someone gets an eye poked with a 4/0 hook, then its just one-eyed fun and games.

I was recently given a box of fly tying material and I saw some peacock strips that really caught my eye. I decided to layer it with some black rooster feathers to add body without taking away from the peacocks color. This just shows some of God's beautiful artwork! The pictures don't do the color justice!

I've built skirts with the same material. looks really nice but the feathers do not hold much tinsel strength unfortunately. Like you i had some from a fly tying kit and it looks to good not to build a skirt out of it.

I was afraid of the strength of it. I will definitely be doing some more but use it more of accent pieces. Hopefully it will hold up for a couple fish

I havent caught any muskie on mine yet, but have a few pike. I also added some hackle and bucktail with that one though, it's still has some peacock feathers left. I lost most of them getting caught up in weeds rather than the fishes mouth. Nice thing about building your own tails is that you can fix them right up!
