Bend in the direction you want the lure to go so if the lure is running left bend to the right. Go easy a little goes a long way.
Does anyone know how to tune a lure with a horizontal tie like a Creek Chub or Old Wooden Bait Company. I assume it's by bending the lip but have never been too successful.

Have had hundreds of fish in the boat on Suicks never had a screw eye break. I would not ever touch the screw eye all the tuning and adjustment is in the tail.
When I get a new Suick I put my thumb in the center of the metal tail and cup it around my thumb. Then bend and tune one side or the other depending on what the bait is doing. Also bending it up or down depending how deep I want it to run.
Only time I tune screw eyes in on crankbaits

I accidentally sailed a suick square into a cement bridge yesterday, I blame the wind lol. Tail was curled into the back of the bait badly. Bent it back best I could(still pretty wavy). To my amazement it still ran pretty good. Moral of story with slight tuning I don't think you could hurt anything.

The HI's are touchy. The 10" is more forgiving. The cadence of retireve maybe different (slower and slightly longer pause at times) than that of a wood suick. Good baits tho!! On your lure, the tail needs to be bent down slightly below level (like a normal suick) not 45 like you can do with some wood baits...perhaps about half, or less tthan half of that. Its hooks left you say...I hate hookers....the tail now needs to be slightly 'twisted' to have the water guide it back. slight adjustments with the molded baits, so next start by twisting the tail clockwise at you look at the back of the bait. slight movements. Try it. If it gets worse go the other way. The tails are great on Suicks...you can do alot with them with some practice. Some time a cast and straight retieve will tell you a bit about tuning the tail. When in doubt go back to a straight tail, with nearly no tipped down tail on the HI's. With the HI's less is more....sometimes. Hope this helps.
