Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | We used to be there, full coverage. I used to actually work with the folks running the event acquiring sponsorships, etc. For no reason we were able to ascertain when the Chamber took over the event, we were pretty much told to get lost, or we'd still be covering (and several of our sponsors would be sponsoring) the Hodag. Oh well. Not like we are bored or anything, but our main office is in Rhinelander. We didn't even get a press release.

Posts: 16 | Steve, I'm the president of the chamber (and on the HMC committee) and we really would be happy to have you on board for coverage and support. Maybe in the past something happened, I'm not sure as it would have been well before my time, but please feel free to email me or call me. We had a successful year with the addition of judge boats this year, and are looking forward to a great event again next year! Brett Aylesworth [email protected] 715-550-0116

Posts: 537 Location: Gilberts IL/Rhinelander WI | I was wondering how someone tripled on crescent with the sun blaring down like that , until I heard Mark was fishing there. Makes sense, I don't feel as bad.

Posts: 12 Location: Twin Lakes, WI | Yes Crescent is tough on those sunny warm days. That water is soo clear. I used to live on crescent so I have spent a lot of time on that lake. They tripled too so props too you two!! Biggest Northern came out of Boom, no surprise there! lol What I was wondering is why Pelican was taken out of the Tournament?

Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Because it requires judge boats due to the 50" limit there.

Posts: 537 Location: Gilberts IL/Rhinelander WI | The Hodag tournament has judge boats. Pelican has been out for a few years since the Rhinelander chamber had the genius idea of changing dates of the tournament, resulting in tournaments conflicting. Maybe Pelican will be available again, although we did fill out a survey asking what days would be best for the Hodag. Changing again? Boneheads....

Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | That's why the lake was dropped originally as back then this was a transport tournament, and there was some minor concern over the KWM.
