No problems with the revo 61's or shimano d in the cold- just typical ice. Can't speak on the Lexa as I just got one this year. I would imagine most reels perform similarly

Location: WI | I fish more in late fall than I do any other time. I have never had an issue in cold weather with abu gracias. Including a late fall 3 day trip to vilas every year with freezing conditions. |

No probs with my NACLs last year besides clearing ice from the line guide and rod guides.

Before you buy a new reel take the gearbox side sideplate off your lexa and degrease the anti reverse bearing in the sideplate. If the AR bearings get contaminated with grease or oil they tend to slip when the temps get colder and the oil/grease in them becomes more viscous. Once the bearing is free of contamination reassemble with the bearing un-lubed and you should be fine.

I fish lefty and I use a Abu Garcia c3 6501. It's very reasonable priced and I love it. I have fished with this reel in warm and cold temps and have had no problems.

I have had good luck w/ NACL's and the old 6501's. Most other reels seem to get some water on the inside of reel and eventually freeze/lock up. You can thaw them and reuse them for awhile before rethawing them again. So far, these are the only two I've used that are still castable all day in typical weather mid to late November in Northern Wisconsin.
