Location: Madison, WI | Starting to think about upgrading boats and have always been a single console guy. I'm open to boats with dual consoles but have found quite a few with full windshields. My question is how hard is it to remove a windshield to make it a dual console? The models I'm considering are Ranger 619, Tuffy 1890, and Recon 985. Is this realistic or should I just keep looking? Reason I ask is there are some good deals on boats with full windshields but I absolutely do not want that? |

Location: Madison, WI | I don't like windshields just for the amount of space they take up and the fact that they act like a sail in the wind. Plus I find them a little ugly. Steve - is the console different under a full windshield than if just dual or are you talking mounting holes? |

Location: New Lenox, Illinois | Removing the windshield is easy. Not exactly sure but if you are looking at the Recon 985 i think the consoles are the same so you should be able to remove the windshield and install the small plastic ones like i have on my boat. Call John at Recon he is great to deal with and will help you out. Just my opinion but buy the Recon!!!! You will not be dissapointed.
