Location: Alex or Alek? | Its that time of the year again. I've noticed the line i have on one of my reels(zilla braid) soaks up a ton of water and after a couple dozen casts it looks like i jumped in the lake. With the cold weather coming I am not looking forward to getting wet and would imagine that the line would also freeze up my eyelets faster.
Any ideas on what the best line is for fall fishing? |

| I did use PowerPro on all my reels for a long time but I've recently been switching over to Suffix cause it holds less water. The guys I know using Sunline FX-2 say that it holds much less water than pretty much any brand out there, I think I'm trying that next myself. |

Location: Pewaukee, WI | Do yourself a favor and try Spiderwire Stealth. It's one of the best that I've found to counter water absorption. |

Location: Land of the Musky | I prefer PowerPro but also like Cortland. 100# for either IMO and you are good to go. For shedding water the most would be Spiderwire IMO but I don't like the line at all. |

| I am a big fan of Cortland master braid but it does hold a lot of water. When fishing in October and November I switch to Power Pro. |

Location: Contrarian Island | PowerPro super 8 slick in 80 lb doesn't hold much water at all... I used it in the summer on a tranx and hated it because it didn't absorb any water it would get too hot on the thumb.... I prefer line that holds a bit of water in the summer but this line might be great for the fall/ cold months |

Location: N.FIB | power pro slick,grand slams good also,I had that sunline on 1 of my toros last yr and it was great line to cast and didn`t get many backlashes it was super loud going through the line guides so I took it off this yr.I still have some left of the sunline,should be enough to spool a reel |

Location: Eagan, MN | The PP Super Slick is dry line and pretty manageable. I've not had any problems with it, other than the line does seem to fray a bit more than others where the line comes in contact with the rod guides. Probably just a cosmetic issue, but I cut off the frayed portion every now and again. Not a big deal. Also, the max lb. test available is 80lb., which is a little scary when throwing big rubber all day and night as we often do late in the fall. BrianF |
