I have a hellhound that the front hook screw eye can spin around. My question is, is it a thru wire setup or just screwed into the plastic? Regardless should I be worried about this?

I send it back or at the least email Drifter Tackle about the bait

AND I would NOT fish with it. If it spins it may come undone you could lose the bait and the fish could die.

I got a hold of drifter and they said it is not a thru wire design but it is a 8 style hanger. So as long as it can't be pulled out they said it should be fine. I will probably just retire it but it's good to know!

Run a screw eye in it in place of the hook hanger.

An 8 style hanger shouldn't spin either! Should have a stud through it. I would not fish it

Alright I will try to get the hanger out and put a screw eye in place of it. maybe slap a little epoxy just on that one to ensure strength. Also to be fair to drifter I bought the bait used and I had caught several fish on it. This is the first time I have had any problems with them and they catch fish! Thanks everyone for the help.

or are you saying put in a screw eye right in front of the hook hanger? and just leave the hanger in

All of mine are through wire. You can see the wires come out the belly section. When did they change to hangers?
