Posts: 125 | Finally branching out to other lakes than the usual northern WI spots i hit in October. I'm headed to this Webster Lake for the first time on saturday. Any tips to help me focus? Much appreciated

Posts: 470 | Webster has been tough for us, only moving fish early and evening. Nada during the day. A few short hits on top waters, big blades and large plastics. One nice fish at night, one hookup and lost at dusk Water is gin clear on the main lake, 76-78F HTH, RandalB

Posts: 125 | Plastics are not a strong part of my game, yet i have heard this lake has success with big plastics

Posts: 427 | since you are going to be in the are don't forget about the other lakes. in recent years it seems like at times they produce as good or better than Webster.

Posts: 76 | LOTS of fish still in Webster--- good bite on blades and dawgs---- you can also "downsize" to move fish during the daytime "lull"------speed also helps trigger some otherwise lethargic fish. Burn those blades through the weeds. The area lakes are ALL doing very well. Nice fish to be had on any of the surrounding waters. Another tactic is to work the "night shift" from dusk to dawn---- can be very productive at times! Troll cranks close to the boat or cast , if you prefer----- work the monster baitfish schools over deep water---you should get some action there. Good Luck----Pat

Posts: 31 | I dont know if its too late for an advice but dont be afraid of deep water(20` 30' feet.) Look for schools of bait fish on ur fisfinder and keep casting. Im a beginner in musky hunting and always thought to relate to structure. That was until we went for a trip and booked Chae from webster lake guide services. First day we caught 4 fish and lost 2, first follow was after 10 minutes on water. All we did was drifted deepest channels of lake and 3 of the fish came from 20 feet and above. All fish caught with blades during overcast. Again not sure if its going to be the same pattern this time of year but i would suspect that getting colder forage and muskies would move deeper. Overcast use shallow running tackle, sunny something running deeper. And if u have some spare allowance call Chae and book him. Definetely worth the money. Edited by jakeeu 9/14/2014 8:54 AM

Posts: 470 | I think a lot of the trouble we had on Webster this year was because we only fished on the weekends during sport boating season (and it's our first time fishing it..). Finally put one in the net after labor day. I wish I could get out there more this season but I don't think I will be able to until November at the earliest. I run a Haunted House for a local charity and that's gonna eat up my muskie time until then. I also reccomend Chae as a guide, great guy and knowledgeable about the local lakes. Definately worth the $$ to cut the learning curve.. HTH, RandalB
