I am a commited musky fisherman who is looking for a place in the northwest territory for HUGE northern pike. I asked around at the milwaukee sports show and got a few ideas, but any help from this panel would really be nice. THANK YOU DENNIS KEEP A TIGHT LINE

What lake is this on and is it a big lake? Are there alot of camps or lodges on the lake, in other words is there alot of boat traffic. I am only interested if it is nice and quiet. I am looking for a nice place to get away and catch a bunch of fish. I am going to be taking along my son so CATCHING fish is a must. The lakers would be a bonus. I will contact you during the week, is this phone number available during the day or is there an answering machine. DENNIS

Check out Res Delta Tours, they are located on Taltson bay of Great Slave Lake. The only contact info I have is, Don Balsillie@ 1-780-975-9304. Jan Eggers did an article in the winter 2001 Esox Angler about it. I have some friends that fished there 3 years ago, and they rave about the no.s and size of the pike. It's pricey, but someplace I would like to go before I die. good luck Mike Jensen.

Wallaston Lodge, big northerns there. A friend went there for a week and got tired and his arms were sore...
I saw pics of some 30 + pound northerns, and I heard it's like shooting fish in a barrel, so to speak.

I think it might have been a Wallaston story from a friend's father: the boat was docked with rods laying against the side, and a northern jumped out of the water to try to grab a lure, so when they came out it was hooked up and trying to free himself!!

They literally jump out of the lake...

Looks like less than 5 months to LOTW, I can hardly wait!

Later,
Papa Joe
