Thanks for the info. Didn't realize it was a good search bait. Are you using it on a flourocarbon leader?

it comes with a wirer leader, but I made some out of 180 F/C a little longer then the stock ones. If U make your own then U can add a sliding weight to it if U want to. When the bait gets torn up just use a small torch to mend, just like a dawg.
Hope that helps, Good Luck.
I think they are a little pricie for now but I'm sure U will find them on the web in 6mths for alot less.

Great info.
I stayed with the thread because of my great respect for Larry Dalberg. Have had success with other inventions of his. Pricey (ouch) but usually deliver as promised. I love watching him work in his shop. You have convinced me. I will purchase because of this thread. I see they are out of stock at River2Sea. Must becoming very popular. See you can teach an old dog new tricks. Looks like he uses flourocarbon carbon at times also.
Good video. https://m.youtube.com/watch?autoplay=1&v=pgx-0ixm02E
Two more questions and I'll leave you alone. Any favorite color? Do you hook the treble into bait or leave it free?
Thanks again.

I like Redhorse, White which is Slv and the Firetiger. Yes I hook the treble in the bait.

They come with a leader already.

Is it just me or you have to burn it in to get nice tail action on this bait?
If you reel it slow it just rolls.
Thanks

Seems that if you use it stock, you have to burn it. Stop and it darts out. Burn again. Had a nice leech lake fish scare me half to death as I pulled it out of the water. Almost jumped in the boat!

My buddy brought his up on a fishing vacation last week. The thing had ZERO action. It was like reeling in a hot dog. Maybe some are poured differently, but the one we were messing around with didn't do a thing.

Yeah, unless you reel it in very fast it doesn't do nothing.

The ones I have, if you just reel them slow and steady--will do nothing... But if you start giving short bursts of speed with your reel, and mix in some pauses and quick twitches, it really comes alive. I think you have to think of the bait as more of a jerk bait instead of a swimbait or crank. You have to let it sink a little bit also, to keep it off the surface at the beginning of retrieve. Mix in those short burst of speed with some death pauses and quick snaps and twitches and I think you will be golden. Awesome bait! Not for the faint of heart though... you gotta make it work for you.

Yes, definitely exercise to get it working

Just curious ... for those using Mr W - how are you attaching the leader that comes with the bait.

Directly to a solid ring... When I have made my own Fluro leader I am going to a barrel swivel. They both seem to work....
