Thanks for the info. Didn't realize it was a good search bait. Are you using it on a flourocarbon leader?
it comes with a wirer leader, but I made some out of 180 F/C a little longer then the stock ones. If U make your own then U can add a sliding weight to it if U want to. When the bait gets torn up just use a small torch to mend, just like a dawg.

I stayed with the thread because of my great respect for Larry Dalberg. Have had success with other inventions of his. Pricey (ouch) but usually deliver as promised. I love watching him work in his shop. You have convinced me. I will purchase because of this thread. I see they are out of stock at River2Sea. Must becoming very popular. See you can teach an old dog new tricks. Looks like he uses flourocarbon carbon at times also.

| Seems that if you use it stock, you have to burn it. Stop and it darts out. Burn again. Had a nice leech lake fish scare me half to death as I pulled it out of the water. Almost jumped in the boat! |

| The ones I have, if you just reel them slow and steady--will do nothing... But if you start giving short bursts of speed with your reel, and mix in some pauses and quick twitches, it really comes alive. I think you have to think of the bait as more of a jerk bait instead of a swimbait or crank. You have to let it sink a little bit also, to keep it off the surface at the beginning of retrieve. Mix in those short burst of speed with some death pauses and quick snaps and twitches and I think you will be golden. Awesome bait! Not for the faint of heart though... you gotta make it work for you. |
