| Hi everyone,
This last week I just brought a new deep cycle battey and while I was taking it out of my boat it fell in to water about 2 ft deep for 30 seconds. Is this battery still ok to use? It's sealed but I don't know if its sealed against water. I charged it overnight and its not fully charged yet. Thanks for your help

Location: Hayward, WI | If it's a sealed, maintenance free battery I'd guess you are okay. If it's a regular lead acid battery, there are two caps on the top. You might want to pop those off and make sure the entire battery didn't fill up with water. If it is, probably want to remove the liquid down to the proper level with a syringe and then recharge.
Can you tell us what battery it was? |

Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | If its sealed - don't pry the caps off. If its a wet cell w/ removable caps you can check it. But do not remove electrolyte, the electrolyte level wiill drop with routine charging. But, in either case I wouldn't even bother. It should be fine.
