Posts: 55 | so I was using a fluoro leader and kept getting a full boy spin on my lure. Switched to a wire leader with no bearing swivel and the same. Finally just tied straight to 25lb mono and the same. Is the body supposed to spin as well as the tail? How do I get the body to not spin and only the tail. I would hate to get a strike while the trebles are up in the air.

Posts: 5 | Not a dumb question at all. I also have sent a Topraider or two back to the manufacturer for a replacement due to the lure having issues. I understand the lure may have been produced by more than one manufacturer and thus some quality control issues. I bet your internal weight has come loose and I read somewhere where you could drill a hole and reaffix the weight but the foam suggestion mentioned above sounds like a good idea. I would try to fix it. I hate throwing stuff away.

Posts: 55 | yes, I shook the lure last night and it rattles. Sucks that it came like that. I ordered it from MS or MTO, don't remember. Who would I contact for getting a replacement? Seems like they would make it where it would never be able to come loose.

Posts: 279 Location: Central Wisconsin | My first Topraider that I bought did this after bouncing it off rocks and what not. It would spin one full revolution every 3'-6' and I always thought it was actually a trigger. I had 50+ fish on that bait before it broke in half, never had another that worked that good. Does it continuously spin, or every once in a while? I might be interested! ; )

Posts: 55 | it is not consistent. It kinda spins randomly. You guys think it matters to the fish?

Posts: 279 Location: Central Wisconsin | Nope! Joe Bucher used to laugh when he'd get baits returned for one reason or another and he'd take them for himself and catch fish on them. Throw it for a while and see if they like it, I think mine got better when it started doing that (others may disagree). You might still want to contact the manufacturer and see what they say.

Posts: 134 | Upsize front hook, bait will ride slightly lower and will change"action " but it works. Different sound n different ride but some argue butter hookup% because bigger hook n lower in water.
