Posts: 518 Location: Cave Run Lake KY. | Pray for rain and troll a lot, Id say its a lot like fishing Whitefish bay, We used to stay at resorts on Kakagi for opener and sight fish musky all alone the south shore. WE stayed at resorts that had a private boat launch on Stevens bay that way if we didn't see fish on Crow we would transport our rigs over to Stevens Bay and put in there and fish the north shore of Sabaskong Bay all the way over to and past Rabbit Island. The transport wasn't bad and at the end of the day we would leave everything in the boat and pull them back to our resort at about 30 Mp. and charge up our batteries over night off of our resort electric worked out good for us. In the summer a lot of the nicer muskie come from the north east side of Crow lake. Take care and good fishing to you Marv.

Posts: 156 | Actually some of the best days are the sunny ones. Concentrate on macro structure, and SE ends of large islands/structure with broken rubble. With an hour of daylight left ,switch over to trolling concentrating on humps and soft bottom near neck downs or off main lake structure. With the water up, you might want to add about 4 feet to this...but we always had best luck on 14-22 foot humps. Put big baits (13" Grandma, 14" Jake, 14" Jtd Believers) about 15-18 feet down off planer boards. When the fish are on, you'll see "activity" on your graph as the food chain starts, and if you're over softer bottom...you've hit the mother load. Biggest we ever caught was 47" though. We did lose a 45lb class fish one year....so they are in there.
