Location: New Jersey | Headed to LSC in two weeks. Going to be staying in Rosevile, MI, fishing with a guide and fairly certain we'll be launching from Roseville. Question is, what kind of fishing license do I need and if we're fishing in Canadian water at times, do I need to have my passport and/or a Canadian license? |

| If you fish Ontario waters, you will need that license and some sort of ID on you. Not neccesarily a passport, but wouldn't hurt. Good luck. |

Location: New Jersey | Thanks. I'm assuming I'll need a Michigan License as well? |

Location: Detroit River | Ask your guide what license(s) that you'll need. I would of thought that he would have told you that when you booked with him.
If you're launching from Michigan & entering Ontario waters you don't need a passport/passport card/Nexus card/enhanced driver's license unless you reach port (dock), anchor or tie up to an anchored boat in Ontario waters. Also, when entering Ontario waters your guide has to call in to the Canadian Border Services Agency to check in. If he doesn't call in I wouldn't be hiring him again. Not calling in can lead to him having his boat & gear taken & your day will be ruined. |

| Maybe you should ask if your guide is fully licensed also. |

Very good advice and get it in writing.
